The Roots drop their 13th studio album tomorrow. Undun is a concept album taking inspiration from a Sufjan Stevens track and charting the deteration and eventual destruction of a young mans life. That might sound like a typical hip-hop subject but the story plays out in reverse begining with our protagonist one ''Redford Stevens'' death, rewinding the downward spiral that lead to his There are 4 short videos featuring songs from the album Sleep is the earliest in the tracklist Make My follows with Stomp and Tip the Scale nearing the close of the album and the start of the journey. 'Def Jam' - K-Delight (free download)

Apparently the mix has been inspired by a Hip Hop/Breaks night in Darlington, which I assume is called Def Jam - if you're up that way then be sure to visit, if it's anything like this then it's a good night!
The mix features Little Brother, Jurassic 5, Nas, Q-Tip, DJ Format, Beastie Boys, Main Source, Skinnyman, TY and The Roots all bigging up the rapping side of things and elsewhere Aim, Quantic, The Bamboos, Babe Ruth, Lowell Fulsom and The JBs rock things in their own way.
HHC put this on their site today along with a minterview (yeah, that's a word I made up for mini interview) so brothers out there with sisters, peep it.

'The Golden Age' - Spin Doctor (free download)

It's packed full of goodness from the likes of Brand Nubian, The Pharcyde, The Fugees, The Roots, Common, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Busta Rhymes... man the list goes on. But really, it speaks for itself so I'll continue: Black Moon, KRS One, Junior Mafia (unfortunately, can't stand em), Big L, Showbiz & AG, Lord Finesse, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Keith Murray, Das EFX, Sadat X, Mobb Deep, Rawcotics, Nas and Africa Islam (wipes sweat off brow and fingers).
'The Golden Age' is expertly mixed by an expert and is bound to be many folks cup of tea, or even coffee - the Americans will love it too! Whatsmore, you can get it for free! If you go to The Doctors Orders webpage, then you'll find this free to download as one fat track. If you want a hard copy with the artwork and everything then track it down at Sounds Of The Universe, Revival Records, Wyld Pitch, Sister Ray or Phonica.
Whilst you're there, there are loads of other mixes to download - cool!
