Few free beats and pieces here for you today - call it an early Christmas present:

Gadget (or here), the man of many talents, comes through in his DaWordsmith guise and drops this little gem: 'War Stories (A Story To Tell pt2)'. If you're not familiar with his work then get to know, he's part of the Millennium Jazz Music clique who provide really dope, positive Hip Hop to a scene that really needs just that.

He's also hooked up with B'ham's TLG and Kelkovski on 'One Life'.

Sandpeople, out of the US, Portland to be precise, have jumped on El Michels Affair's version of 'Can It All Be So Simple?' to create what effectively is a Hip Hop cover version. They take cues from the original lyrics and bring their own, more laid back vibes to the Wu-Tang classic. New classic.

Also from the US, but over a UK beat is $amhill's 'Twisted Emotions' produced by The P Brothers.

'Something For The Strive' - ReggiiMental (free download)

Allow me to recommend to you a free download - I know I do that a lot but I just thought I'd come polite. Certified Banger favourite Reggiimental has dropped a little freebie - well, not that little actually - this is a vast body of work.

It kicks off with the funky freshness of the 4th Front remix of 'Grimy Ill' - defo a good way to set things off. Things get a little more meloncholy for a few tracks before getting a bit Wu-ish on 'Study Of Business' (another 4th Front remix). 'Coolin'' featuring SonnyJim is really mellow but in a big way - it's like the chill out room in a club. Y'already know the track 'Get Away' from 'On The Radar Vol. 4' and it sounds just as good here. Reggii also has a go at Baby J's 'I'll Be Surprised' and 'Young, Gifted and Black' and things get beautiful with Kelakovski's beat on 'Thoughts'. Things continue with Reggiimental rocking over a variety of vibes - there's something for every mood here - a really great mixtape.

The mixtape features loads of his fellow Midlanders including Unfriendly Neighbours, T.L.G, Ras Supa, Gadget, Devas, Percy Filth and R2ThaBeats.

'Eat Good Records Compilation Volume 1' - VA (compilation review)

Right now Birmingham is putting a very convincing bid to be the new capital of UK Hip Hop and here's some proof: 'Eat Good Records Compilation Volume 1'. Featuring raps and beats from the whole crew this release is a real must have for any UK Hip Hop fan. Leading his soldiers into battle is one of last years most lauded MCs - SonnyJim, whose verses are consistently on point over the 7 tracks he features on.

Other raps come from Kosyne, TLG, Redbeard, English, RT and Professor D and then there's 'Planet Rasco' which features a whole host of artists too numerous to count (almost). Sivey, Shears, Kelakovski, Taharka, Wizard, Eyebs, R2ThaBeats, Percy Filth and others all provide flawlessly suitable beats.

SK brings a bit of leftfield comedy on the true to life 'Overtime' which is nestled right up with TLG and Ras Supa's 'Blacklist' - two tracks about money from the everyman's viewpoint. Elsewhere there's clever film title based lyrics, a story track whose main character is a bank note, a track about having a bad day and a Brummie love song.

In case you hadn't realised yet, the UK is so much bigger than London and it's time that everyone sat up and took notice of this country's pools of talent such as the Eat Good Records roster. The compilation is absolutely banging, straight fire and this collective has some of today's most talented artists repping for them.

Certified Banger, a blog (almost) dedicated to the art of Hip Hop in the UK proudly presents this 21 track compilation of some up-and-coming artists and their music. Taking in many different angles of UK Hip Hop 'On The Radar' attempts to bring some new music to your ears, all for the princely sum of nothing.

It features never heard befores, heard before but hard to get hold ofs and tracks already available on the respective artists own pieces of work. With 21 tracks, you're bound to find something you like, and for free, you can go much wrong by downloading it and giving it at least one virtual spin.

This compilation should appeal to Hip Hop fans and people of other persuasions alike, so if you fall into one of those categories (and I think you do), you should right click, left click, save target as with the quickness.
